God the Father Almighty, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was born of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary; Crucified under Pontius Pilate, and buried; the third day He rose from the dead;

He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

And in the Holy Spirit; the holy Church; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; the life everlasting.

Take Your Invitation Seriously

Revelation 19:6-10 NET

Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting: For the Lord our God, the All-Powerful, reigns!

7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

8 She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen” (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints).

9 Then the angel said to me, “Write the following: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!” He also said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

10 So I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “Do not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The Holy Trinity

T he God-head is three persons—one God, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. God has made this evident since the most ancient of times, and it is utterly shown in the Life and Person of Jesus Christ. A short hand name from before 170 AD is the Holy Trinity. The Lord Jesus says that the Father is greater than all. More Information

The Scripture

The Bible starts with the first man Adam passing on to his son Shem what God had taught him, including the description of God's creation of everything, the Heavens and the Earth, all life, and Adam himself, and from Adam's body, Eve the first woman, first ancestors of us all.

The Old Testament

This is the Old Testament, and describes all mankind falling into sin, death, and Eternal Judgement, while also foretelling the coming of God's Saviour to the human race, the Messiah — Christ.

The New Testament

With Jesus Christ, is the fulfilment of the Old Testament, by His death and resurrection, and so the Bible continues as the New Testament, inspired by the Holy Spirit and written down by Christ's first apostles and those close to them. The New Testament — God's new solemn contract with mankind, remains in force unaltered until everyone can see Jesus physically returning in the clouds above to rule the earth, and bodily resurrect to Eternal Life those who have faithfully believed/followed Him now.

Here is a portion of the New Testament, from a copy of Paul's letter to the Christians living in a city called Corinth.
It is from Papyrus 46 held by Michigan University, the reading covers 2 Corinthians 11:33-12:9, and the copy is dated to about 175 AD (Anno Domini — short for Anno Domini Nostri Iesu Christi In the Year of Our Lord Jesus Christ — 175 years after the birth of the Lord Jesus). This is one of the oldest, amazingly still existing, pieces of a copy of the New Testament, that has been re-discovered so far.

The New English Translation translates the text as follows:—
2 Corinthians 11:33 — 12:9 NET

But [I was let down] in a rope-basket [through a window] in the city wall, and escaped his hands.

1 It is necessary to go on boasting. Though it is not profitable, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord.

2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago (whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows) was caught up to the third heaven.

3 And I know that this man (whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows)

4 was caught up into paradise and heard things too sacred to be put into words, things that a person is not permitted to speak.

5 On behalf of such an individual I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except about my weaknesses.

6 For even if I wish to boast, I will not be a fool, for I would be telling the truth, but I refrain from this so that no one may regard me beyond what he sees in me or what he hears from me,

7 even because of the extraordinary character of the revelations. Therefore, so that I would not become arrogant, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to trouble me — so that I would not become arrogant.

8 I asked the Lord three times about this, that it would depart from me.

9 But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power [is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.]
